Srinagar, Sep 21 (KNO): The ongoing Internet shutdown in Kashmir has brought back the trend of buying movies and favorite TV serials from the market as the people have no other way to defeat stress and boredom. According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), selling movies, TV Serials and other entertaining stuff regained its popularity in last more than seven weeks after all online means including popular Youtube remained shut due to the communication blockade in the wake of revocation of special status to Jammu and Kashmir on August 5. Movie and TV serial lovers can be seen thronging to the places in Srinagar areas to get the ‘soft stuff’ of their choice. People are asked to attach the list of movies or TV serials with their Pen Drives or Hard Drives. “You put your pen drive along with the list of movies or serials you need, we will hand over the stuff to you in some minutes,” a movie seller at Jawahar Nagar told this KNO correspondent. When asked about the stuff, he replied whatever you need, we have it. “We have movies of Classic era to Modern day world, but mostly people ask for movies of 1990 to 2019,” he said, adding, they regularly get latest stuff from outside markets in hard drives. Hollywood, Bollywood, Tollywood and TV Serials all are available here, said a seller in Bhagat Chowk, who wished not to be quoted. “You put your favorite list here, we will transfer it into your pen drive,” he said. The price of the movie and TV serial also depends on the video quality. HD movie or TV serial (Blueray print) sells at Rs 30 to Rs 50. Similarly MP4 print (Normal) sells at Rs 20, a movie lover told KNO. The sellers are surprised to see that there is a huge demand of movies from classical era also. “We are surprised that people still watch movies from classical era,” he added. Apart from selling films to the people, there is a huge demand of serials like ‘How I Met Your Mother’, ‘Friends’ and ‘Game of Thrones’. Oscar CD World at Bhagat Chowk and DVD World at Jawahar Nagar are among the famous places selling soft stuff to the movies and serial lovers. (KNO)
